Getting started
Open Plugins → Customer Alerts.
- Choose how SMS is sent under SMS gateway:
- Test mode — messages are only written to the log. Use this to try things out.
- Notify.lk — enter your User ID, API key and Sender ID from your Notify.lk account.
- Custom gateway — any provider that accepts a web link. Put
{to}and{message}where the phone number and text go.
- WhatsApp uses the connection already set up under System Settings → API & Connection.
- Turn on the messages you want and pick SMS, WhatsApp or both for each.
- Use Send a test to check a message reaches your phone.
Messages
- Order approved — when an order is approved.
- Payment received — a receipt when a rep or driver records a payment.
- Overdue balance — a reminder to shops whose oldest unpaid invoice is older than the days you choose. It is sent once a day at most, and repeats only after the gap you set.
Writing messages
Use these words in curly brackets and they are filled in for each shop: {customer}, {company}, {invoice_number}, {amount}, {payment_type}, {balance}, {days}. Keep SMS short — about 160 characters is one message.
Message log
The log shows every message: when, to whom, the text, and whether it was sent. Failed messages show the reason, for example a wrong phone number.
Phone numbers
Messages go to the shop's first phone number. Local numbers such as 0771234567 are changed to the international format using the country code in your WhatsApp settings (94 by default).
